SoC Methodology an Overview

چکیده

System on a Chip (SoC) is a concept that has been challenging the traditional design flow methodologies by: encouraging component reutilization; promote concurrent development; propose new design, verification and validation flows; encourage innovation; and enable multidisciplinary teams to work together. Rather than being a hard recommendation for an specific SoC methodology, the objective of this paper is to identify the key flows and create awareness to those involved on the massive effort that is involved in SoC such as: system architecture and modeling; hardware-software partitioning; analog and digital circuit design, verification, and physical implementation; software architecture and coding; design validation and component testing. These practices allow large teams to come with innovative products just in time to meet market demands.
